This is Phantom:
Died June 2003 of complications related to heartworm.
Rescued too late.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Susani:
She was Phantoms mate and also HW positive.
She was so heartbroken after Phantoms death she could not go on. She died after arriving at a sanctuary.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rajah:
dead from HW complications also. It makes me wonder, what was going through the mind of the owner.
What justified the treatment of these animals?
Is it mental illness or just plain cruelty?
The above animals were with the group of 14 that were rescued in San Antonio TX. It took a stranger to call Animal Control. Friends of the abuser were aware of how she was keeping her animals but they did nothing. This woman could still have animals at her residence but it is not known. Do not purchase animals from Michelle Newman/Hidden Trails Kennels, she was arrested for animal cruelty. See the story here..wolfcry.org/news.htm
------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a little doggy who was lost by her owners vet. Yes,the vet. Apparently she was taken in to be altered with explicit instructions. The owner of this animal wanted to stay but they convinced her it was ok and to leave. During the pre-op after the first shot she escaped. Slipped that silly doggy collar the vets use right off her head. The attendants had left two doors to the place wide open. She was gone and the owner heartbroken. We still await word of her whereabouts. Missing since 11/2002. As far as we know she is still missing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
This little doggy died while pregnant in April of 2003.
Tica wasn't fortunate enough to receive the proper vet care.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This animal was the product of a backyard breeder.
Unfortunately Anoki had some severe aggression problems and his owner had to humanely put him to sleep.
